Iron Standard Industrial was founded by Eric Herner after more than two decades working inside the operations the company now serves.
His experience was earned on warehouse floors, behind the wheel, around heavy equipment, inside customer facilities, and in leadership roles responsible for safety, logistics, fleet management, training, sales, and day-to-day operations.
Eric’s career progressed from doing the work to leading it, improving it, and teaching it. That path gave him more than technical knowledge. It gave him a firsthand understanding of how small decisions, repeated shortcuts, and seemingly harmless mistakes can eventually lead to injuries, equipment damage, operational failures, and enormous financial consequences.
That understanding shapes every Iron Standard training program.
Most operator training explains what the rules are. Eric teaches why they matter. A forklift operator is not simply pressing pedals, moving levers, and checking boxes. The operator is constantly reading the machine, the load, the forks, the rack, the floor, and the people around them while making dozens of small adjustments.
Even entering a pallet requires more judgment than it appears. Forks are tapered, becoming thicker as they move farther into the pallet. An operator can begin with the fork tips properly aligned and still make contact with the rack if they fail to adjust while moving forward. One small impact may seem insignificant, but repeated movement can weaken anchors and connections until an ordinary mistake becomes the final event in a much larger failure.
Those are the details that rarely appear in a manual, but they are the details that protect people, equipment, facilities, and careers.
